Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009) was an American realist painter with a career spanning seven decades. He lived his whole life in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. This painting is my interpretation of a black & white photo taken of Andrew as he strolled along the riverbank one cold & wintery morning, in solitude and quiet contemplation of his beloved countryside. There are no leaves on the trees and their trunks are reflected in the icy waters of the river. The grass is long and moves gently in the breeze and Andrew moves slowly, warm in his overcoat as he surveys his vista, looking for his next painting.
