The Dainty Swallowtail (scientific name Papilio anactus) butterfly is a regular visitor to my Brisbane garden. This native Australian butterfly loves citrus plants, and is depicted just the way I found it in my garden - on a native Finger Lime bush.

I managed to get a reference photo of 3 stages of its life cycle together in one shot (caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly) which inspired this detailed life cycle painting. My modern take on the traditional natural history illustration, this painting took many days to complete. A lot of time and care went into faithfully painting tiny details of the butterflies and surrounding plants.

Can you find the tiny butterfly eggs on a leaf in the painting, to complete the life cycle?
