Sometimes when I am looking for the perfect reference photo I have to wait a while. That was the case with this one.
The wandering whistling ducks were no problem, they were quite happy to pose and sing amongst themselves.
But photographing my koala AWAKE was quite difficult, I had to wait for one of the keepers to rustle some fresh gum leaves to wake him from his slumber. I do wonder what koalas dream about whilst they sleep most of the day. Probably about the peril their species is under and how their numbers are in decline.
In this drawing, I have my animals looking toward a better future.
